Alida Holguín Wilson-Gunn, just finished performing with Teatro Dignidad in their Human Rights production, The Sound of Cracking Bones/ El Ruido de Los Huesos Que Crujen, and is currently incorporating as BlackTop Gunn Theatrics: Teatro de la Calle, a theater arts workshop entity dedicated to bringing to the forefront words and voices from our streets.  This past season she directed the critically acclaimed production, The Hall of Final Ruin with Something Something theatre, was seen as an actress in Arizona Theater Company’s, Native Gardens, in the TCG recognized,, The Mermaid Hour with Borderlands Theater and in Maternal Instinct with Theatre New and Now.  Recent contract work includes: Marketing Team Leader & Production Manager, Teatro Dignidad; Teatro Program Manager, for YWCA Tucson, La Escuelita de Teatro: Summer, theater arts and literacy program; Workshop Leader, fall break theater arts program, at ZUZI! Dance (including playwriting and performance), Production Manager for HARK! (an interactive, community based listening project) with Taproot Productions; and for BlakTina Dance Festival -Tucson, with the Latina Theater Dance Project – Tucson.  Not long ago, she returned to AZ from Portland, where she was Milagro Theater’s Associate Artistic Director of Touring and Education.  While at Milagro she worked to streamline their touring programs, dramaturged and directed, Sueños de Futbol, El Tesoro, a novela about trash, and re-mounted and dramaturged El Niño Diego and Las Aventuras de Don Quixote.  She also performed in Searching for Aztlán and Cuéntame Coyote.  Before leaving for Portland she was Borderlands Theater’s Education Outreach Program’s Director for over 7 seasons – conducting workshops, directing and devising student inspired theater and touring with the “Coyote y Culebra Youth Project.”  Alida also performed with Borderlands Theater in many productions including: Grounded, a one woman show by George Brant (won best show MAC award, 2013); Alice, Lidless; Jocasta, Oedipus el Rey; Christina, Electricidad; Esmeralda, Earthquake Chica; and Picuka, Conjunto.  Other credits include: Invisible Theater’s Miracle on South Division Street; Winding Roads’ August Osage County; Ally Theatre’s touring production Something Rare and Wonderful; Rouge Theaters’ Immortal Longings; Chamber Music Plus’s, Frida Kahlo, Still Life; Abby, Beowulf Alley’s, Fiction (nominated MAC award, best actress 06); Camilla’s Theater (NY), Killer, in Killer in Love; and her own one-woman show Vein, NY.   Other Technical credits include: Assistant director/ stage manager, A Tucson Pastorela, Maggie/Magalita, and The Wrestling Season.  Other technical credits include: Stage manager for Frozen, Beowulf Alley Theater; and Caged, NY; lighting/sound technician for the One Woman Series of productions at Camilla’s Theater, NY; and properties designer for the The Stella Adler Theater with The Stella Adler School of Acting; HBO's comedy skit showcase; and Tight Quarters (all in LA).  Alida attended the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management, Community Economic Development Program; National Association of Latino Arts and Culture (NALAC), Leadership Institute; worked for Herberger Theater in Phoenix with their Youth-at-Risk program (SALT); and interned at the Mark Taper Forum in L.A working extensively with the Latino Theater Initiative.  She has also dramaturged & directed several readings, staged readings, and workshopped productions with local and national playwrights and has appeared as an actress in several independent films, local and national television commercials and an internet series.
